MIVA MERCHANT MODULES

Miva Modules are plugins for Miva Merchant store fronts, commonly used to add functionality to an existing store. These can range from as simple as tweaking existing text, or as complex as inventory or affiliate management. With the use of Miva Merchant modules, added functionality may be virtually limitless, and include functions only available to the most high end storefront applications for a lot less.

The best known module is perhaps the Open User Interface, better known as the OpenUI. The OpenUI fully replaces Miva Merchant's stock user interface known as the MMUI, and allows 3rd-party developer modules to fully control every aspect of the storefront screens displayed.

Miva Merchant users are very fortunate to have a very active Miva community. Today there are dozens of developers creating hundreds of various modules and offering excellent support. If there is an unlikely chance that a module does not exist for a needed function, it's not uncommon to have a a module custom designed to your needs. Installing a Miva Module:

Installing a Miva module is relatively simple. Most modules generally follow a standard installation process, but some of the more complex ones, may require additional steps. These are typically well documented by the module developer, and usually will not require any additional help. A typical module installation may go as follows.

Installation:

1. Log into Miva administration using "Advanced Administration Mode".
2. Open the Modules sub-menu by clicking on the blue triangle.
3. Select "Add Module"
4. Select the Upload Icon in the main screen.
5. In the upload file window, browse the local drive to find the module file.
6. Select "Upload"
7. When finished uploading, Select "Add".

Activation:

1. Open the "Store" sub-menu in the left frame.
2. Now open the sub-menu of the store in which you wish to activate the module.
3. Select "System Extension Configuration" or the type of module it would be. This may be noted in the resulting screen after "Add" was clicked during the installation.
4. Assign the new module by checking it's box in the main frame.
5. Select "Update"
